Project Veritas drops Epstein nuke — DOJ distances itself as claims of Trump cover-up go viral

A senior government investigator was secretly recorded making explosive claims about  President Donald Trump and the Jeffrey Epstein case. The hidden-camera video was released by James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, who has been known for releasing undercover recordings.

A Hidden Camera Recording Surfaces

In the video, Glenn Prager, a longtime federal official, is seen speaking during a flight from Phoenix to Washington, D.C. He says Trump is “protecting a lot of people” by not releasing sensitive Epstein files. The video quickly spread online, gaining millions of views within hours.

Prager’s LinkedIn profile shows he has over 25 years of experience in government investigations. He has worked with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Health and Human Services. According to his profile, he oversaw sensitive cases involving the FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals, and other major agencies

What Prager Said in the Recording

In the recording, Prager claimed he had reviewed Epstein’s travel records and also interviewed victims linked to the case. He stressed that none of the victims tied Trump directly to Epstein’s crimes.

“I’ve interviewed all the victims,” he said. “There’s never been an instance where Trump was on a plane with these kids and the rapes occurred.”

Still, Prager suggested that Trump is shielding others who may have been implicated. “He’s protecting a lot of people,” Prager added, saying that Trump promised to release the files but has held back. He also stated that Trump had flown on Epstein’s plane “many times,” but insisted the president was never present when victims were abused.

Prager further said that the situation was not a “hoax,” pushing back on Trump’s repeated claims dismissing the scandal. He also suggested that while Trump kept his distance, other powerful figures were directly tied to Epstein’s crimes.

Prager singled out former President Bill Clinton, saying that rapes occurred during some of Clinton’s flights on Epstein’s private jet. He alleged, “That’s where the big cover-up was.”

Another striking claim Prager made was that Epstein “was a CIA informant,” a statement that has not been backed up by any official evidence.

Reactions From Officials and Public Response

The Department of Justice quickly distanced itself from Prager after the video went public. A spokesperson said that Prager left the DOJ more than 15 years ago and only worked as a program analyst. They insisted he had no access to, or understanding of, the details of the Epstein investigation.

In a strong statement, the DOJ said: “His statements should not be considered accurate. It is disgusting that someone would further exploit victims of sexual abuse by fabricating stories for their personal benefit.” The White House also referred questions back to the DOJ.

Despite this, the video went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with over 4 million views in less than six hours. It sparked intense online debates, with some believing the claims and others dismissing them as misleading.

Republican Representative Thomas Massie also shared the video, writing that a “Senior DOJ Investigator who says he interviewed victims for the government’s Epstein case spills the beans on a hidden camera.”

The video has also reignited public attention on Trump’s ties to Epstein. Trump has long said he was never close to Epstein and cut ties with him after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. Trump has repeatedly said the scandal is a “hoax” and that Democrats would have revealed damaging evidence against him long ago if it existed.

Meanwhile, the shocking video by O’Keefe has ensured that the Epstein case, and the secrets still tied to it, remain at the center of heated public debate.
