FBI guards Alexis Wilkins following wave of threats linked to her relationship with Kash Patel

Country singer Alexis Wilkins, who has been in a long-term relationship with FBI Director Kash Patel, is now under federal protection after receiving a large number of threats. According to officials, the threats were tied directly to her relationship with Patel. The FBI confirmed that she is receiving the security detail because many of these threats were seen as serious and credible.

Wilkins spends much of her time in Nashville because of her music career. Due to the volume and intensity of the messages she received, the FBI decided to take action. The agency assigned a group of highly trained agents to guard her. These agents normally belong to an elite FBI SWAT team in the Nashville field office and usually respond to dangerous emergencies, including active threats and terror situations. Their new assignment has sparked reactions inside the Bureau, as this type of protection for someone dating a senior official is extremely rare.

Current and former officials say they do not recall a situation where an FBI director’s girlfriend or boyfriend received this level of protection. In the past, spouses of directors have sometimes had limited protection, but usually only when traveling with the director or living in the same home. This makes Wilkins’ case stand out because she and Patel do not live together.

Wilkins and Patel have been together since 2023. Patel keeps his legal residence in Las Vegas and often travels to Washington for his work duties. Wilkins splits her schedule between Nashville and her touring calendar. She also accompanied Patel earlier this year during the ceremony when he was sworn in as FBI director.

Debates Over Resources and Public Criticism

The news of Wilkins receiving an FBI SWAT-level team has led to public debate. Many have questioned whether assigning such highly trained agents, who are usually deployed to life-threatening situations, is the best use of resources. These concerns come at a sensitive time, as Patel has recently faced criticism about his decisions and access to FBI assets.

Last month, former FBI agent and conservative podcaster Kyle Seraphin accused Patel of using a $60 million FBI jet to watch Wilkins perform the national anthem at a wrestling event at Penn State on October 25. Seraphin and other critics labeled the trip a “date night on taxpayer funds,” sparking heated conversations online and in political circles.

Patel responded strongly to these claims. He called them “disgustingly baseless” and said they were politically motivated attempts to harm him. He posted a statement saying he would not be distracted by what he described as rumors pushed by online extremists and false news. Patel also expressed disappointment toward people who remained silent while these accusations spread, saying he expected more support from certain allies.

The situation has attracted attention from various sides. Supporters argue that the threats against Wilkins are credible and that the FBI must protect her. Critics argue that government resources must be used carefully, especially when they involve elite agents or expensive transportation. The discussion continues to grow as more details come out about how the Bureau assigns its personnel.

Legal Battles and Online Conspiracy Claims

At the same time, Wilkins is dealing with another challenge. She has filed several $5 million defamation lawsuits against MAGA-aligned influencers Kyle Seraphin, Sam Parker, and Elijah Schaffer. In the filings, she says these online figures spread false and damaging conspiracy theories claiming she was a “Mossad honeypot agent” sent to trap Patel. These claims circulated widely online and caused harm to her personal life and her career as a performer.

Wilkins, who is American-born, says in court documents that the accusations are completely fabricated. Her lawsuits are now seen as some of the most notable defamation cases in conservative media spaces since Patel’s rise to FBI leadership under President Donald Trump.

With active threats, a federal security detail, growing public debate about FBI resource use, and multiple lawsuits against online personalities, the situation around Patel and Wilkins has drawn national attention. Each part of the story continues to highlight how public roles, online misinformation, and personal relationships can collide in today’s fast-moving media environment.
