Gavin Newsom mocks JD Vance’s “tiny brain” in fiery social media clash

A sharp war of words has broken out online between Governor Gavin Newsom and Vice President JD Vance. Newsom mocked Vance with harsh comments, even calling out his “very tiny brain” and claiming that “everyone’s laughing at him.”

A Clash of Words on Social Media

The back-and-forth started after Vance accused Newsom of copying the online style of former President Donald Trump.

During a television interview, JD Vance criticized  Newsom for mimicking Trump’s manner of speaking online. Vance argued that trying to act like someone else is “the opposite of authenticity” and claimed that voters prefer leaders who are original. He described Newsom’s social media posts as a “cheap imitation” and said, “You can’t mimic the king. You can’t mimic the master. You ought to just go and be yourself.”

The comments quickly spread online, drawing attention from supporters and critics alike. But it was  Newsom’s fiery response that turned the exchange into a viral moment.

Gavin Newsom’s Response Goes Viral

Not long after the television remarks,  Newsom’s press office fired back with a post written in the style of Trump. The post mocked Vance by calling him “Just Dance Vance” and claimed he was picked out of a “bargain bin” in a clearance section. The statement also described  Newsom as “America’s most popular governor,” echoing the over-the-top style often used in all-caps social media posts.

The post went even further, saying  Newsom lived “rent-free” in  Vance’s head. It described the space as “a very tiny space, almost no room with the couch,” before finishing with the line “everyone’s laughing at him, believe me!”

The mocking style caught wide attention online. Supporters of  Newsom praised the move, while critics accused him of being disrespectful. Either way, the exchange dominated discussions on social media platforms.

Adding to the drama, Newsom personally joined in with another post. Responding to a report about  Vance saying he was ready to step into leadership if something happened to Trump, Newsom replied simply: “No thank you!” That short but sharp post gained thousands of reactions.

Trolling as a Political Strategy

This online clash was not a one-time event. Newsom’s team has recently posted several messages in the same parody style. These posts often use capital letters, dramatic warnings, and colorful nicknames for opponents. The strategy has drawn attention from political watchers who see it as an effort to grab headlines and connect with audiences online.

One earlier example included a post declaring, “WOW! Tomorrow history will be made,” followed by a mix of nicknames and dramatic phrases. It ended with Newsom’s initials, further mimicking Trump’s online habits.

Gavin Newsom slams Trump’s troop deployments as dangerous militarization of U.S. cities

On a recent press call, Newsom defended this approach. He explained that the parody style helps expose “the absurdity of the normalization” of Trump’s way of communicating. His team believes the trolling not only entertains but also highlights what they view as flaws in their opponents’ style.

Meanwhile,  Vance remains a central figure in the national political scene. Some see him as a possible future candidate in upcoming elections. That has made his exchanges with  Newsom even more closely watched.

The verbal fight between  Newsom and Vance shows how much modern politics now plays out on social media platforms. Instead of long speeches or debates, short sharp posts and mocking words can quickly reach millions. This latest clash proves that online trolling has become one of the loudest tools in today’s political battles.
