Olivia Nuzzi accused of feeding Kennedy Jr. insider intel, suppressing scandals and influencing 2023 campaign decisions

A shocking political scandal has emerged involving Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Health and Human Services Secretary and former presidential candidate, and journalist Olivia Nuzzi. The story revolves around a bizarre incident that took place in 2014, when Kennedy allegedly left the body of a bear cub in New York City’s Central Park. Authorities investigated the case as animal cruelty, but it remained unresolved until 2024.

During RFK Jr.’s 2023 presidential campaign, Nuzzi reportedly knew about the bear incident long before it became public. Instead of reporting the story, she allegedly warned Kennedy, helping him manage the situation before a major article was published.

Journalist Ryan Lizza, Nuzzi’s former fiancé, wrote in a recent Substack post that Nuzzi regularly acted as a political operative for Kennedy. According to Lizza, she obtained opposition research and insider information from sources who trusted her, then passed it directly to Kennedy. Lizza claimed that Nuzzi even helped manage campaign staff and prevented potentially damaging stories from going public.

Allegations of Ethical Breaches

The scandal goes beyond the bear story. Lizza alleges that Nuzzi secretly worked to help Kennedy politically, including helping negotiate his eventual endorsement of Donald Trump after his campaign faltered. She reportedly also helped secure Secret Service protection for Kennedy by contacting officials and gathering key information to ensure he received the necessary security detail.

Nuzzi is said to have managed sensitive information about Kennedy’s campaign, including internal debates over choosing Nicole Shanahan as his running mate. She allegedly persuaded a campaign aide not to go public with critical information, then shared the insider account directly with Kennedy.

The journalist also had a personal connection to Kennedy. Their relationship reportedly began while she was covering his 2023 campaign. Nuzzi acknowledged the emotional aspect of the affair but said it was non-physical and did not influence her reporting. Kennedy has denied any physical relationship and remains married to Cheryl Hines.

Bizarre and Explosive Details

The story includes multiple unusual and dramatic elements. The bear carcass incident resurfaced in 2024 just days before a New Yorker article was scheduled to be published. Kennedy ultimately admitted to the incident in a social media video, shocking the public and sparking widespread attention.

Further claims suggest that Nuzzi was involved in acquiring secret recordings related to Donald Trump. She reportedly arranged for commission artist Isabelle Brourman to carry a recording device while working on a portrait of Trump at Mar-a-Lago. According to Lizza, the recording allegedly contained controversial statements from the former president regarding a 2024 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

Lizza also alleged that Kennedy had written erotic poetry, adding another sensational layer to the scandal. Nuzzi’s professional life has reportedly been affected as well; she was placed on leave from Vanity Fair after the revelations and later separated from Lizza. Legal disputes between Nuzzi and Lizza included a protection order she initially filed but later dropped.

The scandal has drawn public attention for its mix of political maneuvering, personal relationships, and ethical questions. From the 2014 bear incident to Nuzzi’s alleged role in managing insider information and Kennedy’s political moves, the revelations paint a dramatic picture of life behind the scenes during the campaign.
