Elon Musk in Cyber Crosshairs: Hackers Threaten to Disable Tesla, SpaceX, and X Websites

Hackers Threaten to Shut Down Elon Musk’s Companies Online

A group of hackers called DonRoad Team has announced plans to shut down all websites linked to companies owned by Elon Musk. This includes big names like Tesla, SpaceX, and even the social media platform X, which was previously known as Twitter.

The hackers made this announcement through a message they posted on the app Telegram. They said, “In the next few hours, we will be suspending all websites affiliated with Elon Musk companies for a full month.” Though the post was later removed, the warning caused a lot of concern online.

This same hacker group has been in the spotlight before. They previously claimed to have attacked websites linked to a well-known political figure. Now, they are shifting their focus to Elon Musk, who owns several high-profile tech companies. These companies manage everything from electric cars and rockets to social media and artificial intelligence platforms.

If the threat is real and they follow through, this could mean serious trouble for websites like those of Tesla, SpaceX, and Musk’s AI platform Grok. The DonRoad Team also mentioned that they would continue these attacks over the course of an entire month.

How Cyber Attacks on Industrial Control Systems Can Endanger Lives?

Recent History of Cyber Attacks on Musk’s Companies

This is not the first time hackers have targeted Elon Musk’s digital world. Back in March, Musk’s social media platform X experienced at least three major service outages. These were reportedly caused by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. A DDoS attack is when hackers send tons of fake traffic to a website or app all at once. This floods the system, causing it to crash or slow down so badly that real users can’t access it.

A different group, calling themselves Dark Storm Team, claimed responsibility for those earlier attacks. Musk responded on X, saying that a huge cyberattack had happened and that it looked like a big, organized group or even a country might be behind it. He mentioned that his companies face these kinds of threats every day, but this one was especially powerful and hard to deal with.

In a later interview with a business news outlet, Musk explained that many of the internet addresses used in that March attack seemed to come from the Ukraine region. However, he didn’t say who exactly was responsible.

That wasn’t the only incident. In February, another website tied to a government-related group Musk is part of was hacked. The hackers changed the website’s homepage to display a mocking message. It called the site “a joke” and criticized Musk’s team for leaving their database open and easy to access.

Musk-Linked Sites at Risk Again

The latest threat from the DonRoad Team could hit a number of important websites. These include platforms that millions of people use every day. Musk’s companies operate in some of the most important areas of technology—cars, space travel, artificial intelligence, and online communication.

Hackers said they would bring down “all websites affiliated” with Musk’s businesses. That could include customer service websites, email servers, and even internal tools used by employees to run daily operations.

The threat was made on Telegram, a messaging platform often used by groups that want to stay anonymous. Although the message was later deleted, it quickly spread across the internet, drawing attention from security experts and news outlets.

The DonRoad Team also claims they were behind attacks on email servers for both Tesla and SpaceX in March. Those attacks caused brief global outages, making it difficult for users to contact or interact with those companies. Though service was restored, the event raised questions about how secure even the world’s top tech firms really are.

This latest threat adds more pressure on Elon Musk’s teams to defend their online platforms. With several past attacks still fresh in memory, many people are now watching closely to see if the hackers follow through.
