Why it exists
People increasingly ask AI assistants instead of searching, and the assistants cite only a few sources in each answer. Most website owners have no way to see whether AI systems can reach their pages, whether their content is easy to quote, or whether their organisation is described consistently. NI Geovanta brings those checks into the WordPress dashboard. The ideas behind it are explained in our AI search visibility guide.
What it does
- GEO score. Scores each post or page out of 100 using 8 signals built from 33 checks: answer readiness, extractability, entity clarity, authority attribution, semantic structure, hallucination risk, content depth and citation quality.
- Course and product rules. Pages that offer something, such as courses, are scored on different rules: a clear description, key facts (price, length, format, audience, prerequisites) and who stands behind the offer. This was built with educational institutions in mind.
- AI Readiness Report. Checks a whole site against what ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, DeepSeek and Copilot need: robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemaps, structured data, meta tags, security and content signals.
- AI Visits. Logs AI bot visits in three groups (training crawlers, AI search indexers and assistants fetching a page to answer someone) and counts visitors who arrive from AI assistants.
- Company Identity. Holds one canonical description of the organisation and adds it to every page as structured data, so AI systems see consistent facts.
- Schema Injector. Adds structured data to individual posts and pages where it is missing.
- IndexNow. Notifies Bing and other participating search engines when pages are published or changed.
- Training guide. Explains every check and how to write content that passes it.
Who it is for
- Publishers who want their reporting to be cited in AI answers.
- Educational institutions whose course pages need to state clearly what is offered, to whom and by whom. NI Geovanta is currently in use at a small number of institutions, and their feedback is shaping its development.
- Organisations that want AI systems to describe them accurately.
How we use it at Newsinterpretation
We run NI Geovanta on this site. When we first analysed our archive in October 2026, 27 of about 1,670 posts met its “compliant” threshold, 334 were weak and the rest non-compliant, mostly because older news posts lacked sources, clear answers and author information. In the 30 days to 22 October 2026 it recorded about 25,800 visits from AI training crawlers, about 7,500 from AI search indexers and 132 visits in which an assistant opened a page to answer someone’s question, but no recorded visitors arriving from AI assistants. We are using those figures as a baseline.
What it cannot do
- It cannot guarantee that an AI assistant will cite a page. Its scores are a checklist of good practice, not a ranking signal.
- Its visit counts are minimums: requests answered by a server page cache, and bots that hide their identity, are not counted.
- It cannot override how AI companies crawl or which sources they choose.
