Newly released government documents have revealed details about how convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein played a role in introducing Kimbal Musk to a woman in his social circle. The emails show how the connection was arranged and how communication continued during their relationship.
The documents are part of a massive release of files connected to investigations into Epstein’s activities. They provide insight into how social introductions were handled and how private conversations were shared behind the scenes.
How Jeffrey Epstein and Boris Nikolic Connected Kimbal Musk
The emails indicate that Jeffrey Epstein and his longtime associate Boris Nikolic helped arrange the first meeting between Kimbal Musk and the woman in 2012. At the time, Kimbal Musk was celebrating his 40th birthday in New York.

According to the messages, Boris Nikolic coordinated plans with Epstein and discussed bringing the woman to Musk’s birthday events. One email from Nikolic suggested that the woman should be prepared before meeting Musk. Shortly after the gathering, Kimbal Musk emailed both Jeffrey Epstein and Boris Nikolic thanking them for connecting him with her.
The emails show that Musk described the relationship as dating. Over the next several months, the two spent time together and traveled. During this period, the woman reportedly forwarded personal emails from Musk to Jeffrey Epstein and sought advice from him about how to handle the relationship.
There is nothing in the documents that suggests Kimbal Musk knew the woman was sharing their private conversations with Epstein. Through her lawyer, the woman has said in recent years that she felt trapped and controlled while in Epstein’s circle. She has not publicly spoken about her relationship with Musk.
Private Messages and Social Invitations Revealed
The emails show that Kimbal Musk remained in contact with Jeffrey Epstein and Boris Nikolic beyond the initial introduction. They discussed meeting for lunches and social gatherings. Epstein even asked about attending Musk’s birthday party, although records suggest he may not have attended.
During this same time, Musk invited the woman to travel with him internationally. One invitation included attending a birthday celebration for Talulah Riley in London. Riley was married to Elon Musk at that time. The woman forwarded Musk’s invitation to Epstein, who responded with advice on how she should continue the relationship.
The documents also show that Jeffrey Epstein attempted to build connections with Elon Musk during this period. Emails show Epstein asking Elon Musk about visiting his private island and coordinating possible travel plans. Although some discussions took place, certain trips did not happen due to logistical reasons.
Kimbal Musk also invited Epstein to other private events, including professional gatherings. The tone of several emails suggests a friendly and ongoing relationship between the men during late 2012 and early 2013.
Relationship Struggles and Continued Contact
By April 2013, emails suggest that Kimbal Musk wanted to slow down the relationship. He reportedly wrote to the woman explaining that he was going through personal challenges following his divorce and was not ready for a serious commitment. He suggested continuing in a more casual way.
The woman once again shared this message with Jeffrey Epstein and asked for guidance. Additional emails from another associate, Steve Hanson, advised her on how to respond and suggested strategies for handling the situation.
Kimbal Musk later sent a follow-up message apologizing and offering to talk in person. After that point, the documents show fewer details about their involvement. However, some contact between Musk and Epstein continued beyond 2013.

In a public statement shared years later, Kimbal Musk said that Jeffrey Epstein did not introduce him to the woman and that he met Epstein only once. He denied visiting Epstein’s island and expressed sympathy for victims connected to Epstein’s crimes. Official records do not accuse Musk of any wrongdoing.
The release of these emails has drawn renewed attention to the social networks that Jeffrey Epstein maintained before his death in 2019. Investigators have long stated that he used social events and introductions to build relationships with influential figures in business and technology.
