Newly released emails have brought fresh scrutiny to the social network of Jeffrey Epstein, revealing how he continued to communicate with high-profile figures even after his crimes were widely known. At the center of the latest disclosures is Katherine Keating, the daughter of former Australian prime minister Paul Keating, whose name appears in messages exchanged with Epstein in 2011.
The documents were made public as part of a large release by a US government committee and have renewed global interest in how Epstein maintained access to elite circles long after his conviction.
Continued Contact After Public Conviction
By 2011, Epstein had already served time for serious criminal offenses and had been ordered by a New York judge to register as a level three offender, the highest risk classification. Despite this, emails show he remained in friendly contact with Katherine Keating.

In one exchange, Ms Katherine Keating shared a news article about her father, Paul Keating. Epstein replied by asking if she was in New York. Days later, she sent a group email sharing the foreword to her father’s book, After Words, and signed it “Katherine X.” Epstein responded again, asking where she was and requesting her phone number.
There is no suggestion that Ms Keating knew about or was involved in Epstein’s illegal activities. However, the emails show that communication continued even after Epstein’s criminal history was widely reported in the media.
A Social Web Involving Royals and Celebrities
The newly released records also outline how Epstein’s social connections extended far beyond one person. In early 2010, Katherine Keating reportedly met Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, also known as Prince Andrew, at a luxury event in Dubai. Later that year, she moved to New York after beginning a relationship with hotel entrepreneur Andre Balazs, owner of properties including Chateau Marmont and The Standard.

In December 2010, Ms Katherine Keating was filmed leaving Epstein’s Upper East Side mansion and being farewelled by Prince Andrew. This footage only became public years later, in 2019.
In February 2011, Epstein emailed Prince Andrew asking whether Katherine Keating would like to attend a dinner with filmmaker Woody Allen in New York. Prince Andrew replied, “Will do.” Around the same time, after headlines linked Prince Andrew to Epstein, the Duke of York still exchanged friendly messages with Epstein.
Ms Keating later confirmed attending a large social gathering connected to Epstein, saying that well-known figures such as Barbara Walters, Charlie Rose, and Katie Couric were also present. She explained that she had recently moved to New York at the time and accepted social invitations without any awareness of wrongdoing.
Broader Network of Influence
The emails and records also show that Epstein remained connected to political, business, and media figures even after his conviction. Lord Peter Mandelson, the former British ambassador to Washington, and businessman Bill Gates are known to have spent time with Epstein following his release from prison.
Epstein’s calendars also listed potential meetings with Elon Musk, billionaire investor Peter Thiel, and political commentator Steve Bannon. There is no confirmation that these meetings took place, and there is no suggestion of wrongdoing by any of these individuals.
These disclosures have raised serious questions about how Epstein managed to remain socially active and influential after his criminal past became public. While no evidence has been presented that those named were involved in illegal behavior, the continued contact has led to renewed debate about judgment, accountability, and the power of wealth and status.
Katherine Keating has since returned to Sydney and was recently photographed with her father, Paul Keating, bringing renewed attention to the resurfaced emails and her past associations.

The report detailing these developments was written by journalist Daniela Elser, who has more than 15 years of experience covering major public figures and social issues. Her reporting highlights how Epstein’s network extended across politics, business, royalty, and media, even after his conviction.
The documents do not accuse any of the individuals mentioned of criminal activity. However, they provide a clearer picture of how Epstein’s social relationships continued well into a period when his crimes were already widely known, raising ongoing questions about how such connections were maintained and what they reveal about elite social circles.
