Abu Dhabi Community Rallies for Donation Support to Lebanon

Today, a significant donation event took place at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal 1, part of the larger two-week campaign named ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’. This campaign began on October 8 and has already made a notable impact, collecting 250 tonnes of relief materials from various segments of society in Abu Dhabi. The event aimed to gather aid for people in Lebanon who are suffering due to the ongoing conflict and its harsh consequences.

The in-kind donations were organized under the direction of the UAE’s leadership, demonstrating the country’s commitment to humanitarian causes. The event highlighted how communities can come together in times of crisis, with people from all walks of life contributing to a common goal: providing assistance to those in need.

The Emirates Red Crescent Authority took the lead in organizing this important collection. They were joined by an incredible turnout of more than 4,400 volunteers from diverse nationalities, all united in their efforts to help. These volunteers packed around 10,000 baskets of supplies, showcasing a spirit of teamwork and solidarity that is truly commendable. Their hard work and dedication reflect the UAE’s deep commitment to humanitarian efforts.

The campaign aims to address the urgent needs of Lebanese citizens who are currently facing difficulties due to the ongoing conflict. Many families are struggling to meet their basic needs, and the relief material collected today will go a long way in easing their hardships. The collected items include food supplies, clothing, and other essential goods that can help sustain those in need during these challenging times.

A Testament to UAE’s Solidarity: A Donation of Hope

The event served as a powerful reminder of the strong historical ties between the UAE and Lebanon. The relationships between the two countries have always been profound, marked by mutual respect and support. Today’s wide public participation in the aid collection reflects this enduring bond. As part of the campaign, 24 different donor and volunteer organizations participated in the aid collection at Abu Dhabi Ports. This impressive collaboration included well-known organizations such as the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and many others. Each organization contributed its resources and expertise, helping to coordinate the efforts and maximize the impact of the donation drive.

Their commitment to humanitarian efforts ensures that the relief materials reach the intended recipients in Lebanon, making a real difference in people’s lives. With such a strong collaboration among various organizations, the event was not only successful in gathering aid but also in raising awareness about the ongoing struggles faced by those in Lebanon.
