New details have surfaced about Jeffrey Epstein’s final days in jail. His former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, has come forward with a shocking claim about what Epstein allegedly told him before his death.
Tartaglione, who was housed with Epstein at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan in 2019, said prosecutors offered the late financier complete freedom if he agreed to implicate President Donald Trump in his crimes.
According to Tartaglione’s written statement, Epstein told him that federal prosecutors in New York wanted him to give them information about President Trump. Epstein allegedly said that one of the prosecutors, Maurene Comey, told him he “didn’t have to prove anything” as long as “President Trump’s people couldn’t disprove it.”
Tartaglione said Epstein laughed about the supposed offer and refused to lie. Tartaglione claimed that Epstein told him Trump “was not involved in his crimes.” These claims were revealed in a pardon application filed by Tartaglione, who said he wanted to make public what Epstein had shared with him before his death.
Epstein’s Death and the Growing Mystery
Jeffrey Epstein’s death came just a month after his arrest on child sex trafficking charges in July 2019. His case had already attracted massive public attention due to his connections with powerful figures, including politicians, businessmen, and celebrities.
So Epstein wasn’t just trafficking — he was laundering millions, and the feds buried it.
On July 23, 2019, Epstein was found in his cell with injuries to his neck, which authorities described as a possible suicide attempt. He was then placed on suicide watch for a short time. However, by early August, he was moved back to a regular cell.
On August 10, 2019, Epstein was found dead. Authorities ruled his death a suicide, but the failure of security cameras and the guards’ reported negligence led to widespread public suspicion. Many questioned how such a high-profile inmate could die under federal supervision.
Tartaglione’s claims have now reignited attention on the unusual circumstances surrounding Epstein’s final days. While no official documents have confirmed that prosecutors offered any deal, his statement adds a new and unsettling element to the already complex case.
Epstein’s Connections and Public Reaction
Before his arrest, Jeffrey Epstein was known for his wealth and his wide network of influential friends. He often boasted about his connections to political figures and world leaders. Victims have said that this behavior made them feel powerless to speak up.

One of Epstein’s accusers, Chauntae Davies, said she was afraid to tell anyone about what had happened to her because Epstein constantly bragged about his powerful friendships. She recalled that he mentioned his ties to “the most powerful leaders of our country and the world.” Davies also said she once joined Epstein on a trip to Africa, where former President Bill Clinton and others were present.
Epstein’s circle also included Prince Andrew, who later faced public scrutiny and was stripped of his royal titles after his alleged involvement with Epstein came to light.
Epstein’s relationship with President Trump stretched back decades. The two moved in the same social circles in New York and Florida and were photographed together at parties. In 2002, Trump described Epstein as a “terrific guy,” adding that “he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
Their friendship eventually ended after a dispute over a Florida property. Years later, when Epstein’s crimes became public, President Trump distanced himself from him, saying he was “not a fan” and that the two had not spoken in years.
Even six years after Epstein’s death, new claims continue to emerge, keeping the story alive and the public’s attention fixed on the unanswered questions surrounding one of the most controversial cases in modern history.
