‘Malignant narcissist-in-chief’: Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s brutal Trump attack — and Gavin Newsom smiles proudly beside her

Jennifer Siebel Newsom drew major attention in November 2025 after delivering a powerful speech during a Proposition 50 press event. Her words spread quickly across social media after she told the crowd she would not raise her children to believe that Donald Trump was an acceptable American leader. The speech went viral, with clips shared widely on X.

In her remarks, Jennifer used strong language. She called Donald Trump a “con artist”, a “predator”, and a “malignant narcissist-in-chief”. She also said he was the “worst president in our nation’s history.” She accused him of being weak, a cheater, and of using the presidency to enrich the Trump family. Her comments stood out for their directness, and the moment caught even more attention because California Governor Gavin Newsom watched proudly beside her.

This was not the first time Jennifer Siebel Newsom publicly criticized Trump. Earlier in March 2025, she spoke during a panel discussion about the rising influence of tech billionaires such as Elon Musk. She warned that there was a “tech oligarchy” running the country with no real accountability or transparency. Her comments then showed she was comfortable addressing national issues and calling out powerful figures.

Gavin Newsom’s Sharp Online Strategy

At the same time, Gavin Newsom was making headlines for his bold online messaging. His team began posting on his official account, @GovPressOffice, using a style that closely resembled Donald Trump’s well-known social media tone. This included short phrases, all-caps words, and sharp comments aimed at political opponents.

The posts quickly drew reactions. Many Republicans disliked the approach, and several MAGA supporters mocked the messages. By criticizing the posts, they unintentionally drew attention to how similar they were to Trump’s own style.

Some public figures also weighed in. Dana Perino, a Fox News host and former White House Press Secretary, said on television that if she were Gavin Newsom’s wife, she would tell him he was making a fool of himself. She said that although he had a big job as governor, he needed to act more serious if he wanted a bigger role in the future.

Abigail Jackson, the White House Deputy Press Secretary, also commented on X. She said the all-caps posts were “very weird” and “not at all funny.” Her reaction added to the growing national conversation about Newsom’s new communication style.

But Gavin Newsom defended the strategy. When asked about it, he said he had changed because the facts had changed. He argued that Democrats needed to stand up more strongly to what he called authoritarian behavior. He also referred to Donald Trump as an “invasive species”. Newsom said he respected the Republican Party but believed Trump was something entirely different from past leaders.

His social media messages did not target only Trump. He also posted sharp remarks aimed at Vice President JD Vance, drawing more attention to his aggressive tone online.

A Politically Unified Couple

Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s speech showed that she was ready to match Gavin Newsom’s intensity. Her comments about Donald Trump’s character and leadership style added to the political moment that her husband had already created online. Her decision to say she would not present Trump as a role model for her children resonated strongly with many viewers.

Combined with her earlier comments about tech billionaires like Elon Musk and her warning about unchecked power, her November speech highlighted her willingness to speak out on major national issues. Together, her remarks and Gavin Newsom’s online posts kept public attention focused on Proposition 50, political messaging, and the growing conflict with Donald Trump and his supporters.
