Oversight Committee Releases New Epstein Records
The House Oversight Committee has released a new batch of files connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. These files include the notorious “birthday book,” a scrapbook reportedly put together for Epstein’s 50th birthday by an associate.
The release followed a subpoena that required Epstein’s estate to hand over documents. The GOP-led panel made the files public late on Monday, adding to the already long trail of material under review.
Among the records was what appeared to be an entry written by former President Bill Clinton. In the message, Clinton reportedly praised Epstein’s “childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference, and the [illegible] of friends.”
The Oversight Committee also released documents tied to Epstein’s will, his address book, and details of his controversial 2007-2008 non-prosecution agreement in Florida.
Clinton, Trump, and Others Mentioned in the Book
The “birthday book” contained a range of handwritten notes, letters, and photos. One note was said to be from former Epstein lawyer Alan Dershowitz, while another was linked to then-businessman Donald Trump.
Trump’s entry in the book has been strongly disputed. Committee members and the White House have insisted that Trump did not write or sign anything in the scrapbook. A photo of Epstein holding a fake check for $22,500 with what looked like Trump’s signature also appeared in the book, but officials quickly dismissed it as fake.

Another section included a message that jokingly suggested Epstein had ties to U.S. intelligence. The book also featured a cartoon that showed a man saying he should think less about money and focus more on women and research.
Clinton’s name stood out in the release due to his past social ties with Epstein. Records show he had flown on Epstein’s plane multiple times. However, there are no accusations of wrongdoing against him, Trump, or Dershowitz in connection to Epstein’s crimes.
Family Letters, Photos, and Strange Captions
The scrapbook also included highly personal notes. One letter came from Epstein’s mother, Pauline Stolofsky Epstein. In her message, she recalled raising him, sharing stories about his childhood, and writing about the pride she felt as his mother. She also wrote about Epstein’s late father, saying he would have felt joy over his son’s achievements.
Her entry contained warm details, such as how Epstein would not sleep without a bedtime story or how teachers were once asked to help improve his handwriting. She even referenced a magazine feature that had once called Epstein “Bachelor of the Month.”
Other parts of the book included pictures of Epstein as a child, a teenager, and an adult. Some photos showed him shirtless, while others showed him with friends. Certain images included women in swimsuits, captions about his personal life, and even redacted images of him with Ghislaine Maxwell.
One strange page featured pictures of animals mating, while another had a note about Epstein’s “early talents with money and women.” Several captions used a joking or sarcastic tone, showing that the book mixed humor, admiration, and personal anecdotes.
The release also included a wide collection of documents beyond the scrapbook. These covered legal records, estate information, and more materials tied to Epstein’s past dealings.
Committee Chairman James Comer criticized earlier selective releases of Epstein-related files, accusing Democrats of focusing only on material that mentioned Trump. He said the latest release was meant to bring full transparency, and stressed that no new evidence showed wrongdoing by Trump.
The release of these documents came just before a planned closed-door meeting with a former attorney general. That session was later postponed as negotiations with her legal team continued.
