‘My brother died in Kyiv’: Ukrainian journalist confronts Putin’s alleged daughter Rozova in emotional Paris street clash

On a busy street in Paris, 22-year-old Luiza Rozova, rumoured to be the secret daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was confronted by TCH reporter Dmytro Sviatnenko about her father’s involvement in the war in Ukraine. The encounter quickly drew attention, as Rozova offered a rare public response regarding the ongoing conflict.

Rozova apologized, saying she was “really sorry” for the suffering caused by the war. But when Sviatnenko asked if she could take any action to stop it, she insisted she could not influence her father’s decisions. Throughout the conversation, Rozova hid her face behind a mask and covered her eyes with her bangs, appearing uncomfortable and guarded.

The reporter reminded Rozova that the war had personal consequences for many Ukrainians, including the death of his own brother during a Russian strike on Kyiv last month. Pressed further on her personal stance toward her father’s policies, Rozova replied, “What does that have to do with me?”

Despite repeated questioning, Rozova remained calm but firm. She eventually said, “I think I’ve already talked to you enough. I’m really sorry that this is happening. Unfortunately, I’m not responsible for this situation. I’m glad you dared to come up to me and talk. Have a good evening.”

Who is Luiza Rozova?

Rozova was born as Elizaveta Krivonogikh in 2003 in St. Petersburg. She is rumoured to be the daughter of Vladimir Putin and Svetlana Krivonogikh, who worked as Putin’s housekeeper during the 1990s and early 2000s. Her birth certificate reportedly lists “Vladimirovna,” which translates to “daughter of Vladimir,” though Putin has never publicly confirmed the connection.

Rozova moved to Paris to attend art school, seeking privacy and a life away from public scrutiny. Her mother, who transitioned from being a housekeeper to a wealthy businesswoman, was estimated to have a fortune of over $100 million before the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.

The young woman is believed to be Putin’s youngest child, though other alleged children include endocrinologist Maria Vorontsova, 40, and project director Katerina Tikhonova, 39. While Putin has acknowledged having children and grandchildren in general, he rarely refers to them by name, keeping his family life private.

Rozova’s physical resemblance to Putin has fuelled speculation about her parentage.

Russia-Ukraine War Context

The confrontation comes as the Russia-Ukraine war enters its fourth year on February 24. The conflict, which began in 2022, has caused widespread casualties, destruction of infrastructure, and displacement of millions of people. Despite numerous international efforts to negotiate peace, fighting continues in multiple regions, and the humanitarian crisis remains severe.

During the interaction, Sviatnenko emphasized the personal impact of the conflict, reminding Rozova that her father’s decisions had directly led to deaths and suffering in Ukraine. The encounter underscores the tension between personal family ties and the global consequences of a leader’s actions.

Recently, President Donald Trump, 79, expressed frustration with Putin’s refusal to engage meaningfully in peace talks. Trump noted that a meeting between Putin and his representatives, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff, had produced little clarity about the prospects for ending the war.

Global Attention on Putin’s Family

Rozova’s limited public apology has drawn international attention, blending family intrigue, personal accountability, and the ongoing war.

Her presence in Paris and response offer a rare glimpse into the private side of a world leader. Despite rumored ties to Putin, Rozova stressed she cannot influence his decisions and is not responsible for the war.

The incident raises questions about the duties of powerful figures’ family members amid global crises. Rozova’s story highlights the challenge of acknowledging wrongdoing without the ability to intervene.

Widely reported by international media, the encounter fuels curiosity about Putin’s alleged secret children. It also underscores the human impact of the conflict, reminding audiences that global decisions have real consequences for families on both sides.
